Program Components

PSCP has developed a comprehensive system for peer grief support that offers options for individuals and organizations of all kinds.

What Can We Do For You?

  • PSCP’s One-on-One support model includes meeting individually with a peer, in other words, somebody who has been through a similar experience.

    There are many ways that PSCP’s one-on-one peer grief support is offered, such as by volunteers or by paid employees in a variety of settings. Learn more here.

  • Peer Grief Support Groups are the most popular form of peer grief support. PSCP’s Peer Grief Support Group model includes us working with your organization to provide an opportunity for individuals to be connected with a support group that is right for them.

    Whether your community already has a number of support groups available or needs assistance with launching support groups, our Group Support branch can help make groups accessible to all who may benefit.

  • Given the fact that all our programs are peer-led, PSCP recognizes the importance of providing support to these individuals who are not only grieving, but also providing crucial and at times, life-saving help to other grieving individuals. We provide support through strengthened communication, collaboration, and connectedness. PSCP’s unique model includes providing technical assistance to affiliated peer grief support group facilitators, communications (e.g., weekly emails with tips and information), and most notably, through the Sharing Circles and Network.

  • PSCP established the Direct Service Provider (DSP) Program in response to the increase in overdoses and other substance- use related deaths such as endocarditis and suicide. These issues have given rise to a growing need for support within the DSP community.

    We currently provide peer grief support to direct service providers in three major ways:

    Grief and loss peer grief support groups;

    Training around grief and loss, building resilience, cultivating community;

    Creation, development, and delivery of projects and programs tailored to individual organizations.

  • PSCP takes pride in our higher than average employee retention and satisfaction rates. We have a tried-and-true system for achieving these results.

    We can work with your organization to complete internal assessments of needs and goals, work towards implementing the proposed strategies, and develop relationships with employees at all levels to ensure changes are implemented for results.

  • All PSCP programs are developed based on Equity-Centered Design (ECD) principles. ECD offers a transformative approach to peer grief program development that prioritizes inclusivity and empathy. Learn more here.
